Football Manager. Always.

Football Manager is the best-selling, most realistic football management series ever made. Football Manager 2013 celebrates 20 years of games from the people at Sports Interactive by introducing an array of new features.

This year’s version allows you to take control of any club in more than 50 nations across the world and includes all of Europe’s biggest leagues as well as database of over 500,000 real-world players and staff.

As well as some landmark new features in the Career Mode, there are now new ways to enjoy your Football Manager experience.

New to Career Mode:

    Manager Roles

  • Another notable difference is the significant restructure of the manager’s staff and a revamp of their roles. The most obvious is that we’ve introduced the position of Director of Football into the game for the first time, which will allow managers to pass on some of their workload, such as contract negotiations, if they choose to.
  • In addition to this, we’ve also increased the number of specialist coaching roles within the game and given the manager greater flexibility to choose which coaches offer advice and when. The manager can also choose to complain about boardroom interference – although that particular option should probably be used sparingly.
  • A brand new training system, improved international management, tones in press conferences & a new user interface

New ways to play:

    Classic and Challenge Modes

  • Football Manager Classic is a less time-consuming way to enjoy Football Manager. The essence of the game is exactly the same – the manager still takes charge of a squad of players and competes at w

Road to the Show is the signature game mode in MLB 10: The Show for PlayStation 2. Create and customize a player and put him through a set of interactive training routines that will build his skills and prepare him to make the leap from the Bush leagues, to the Majors. Once he joins an organization, the player controls his/her created character’s individual career, gaining skill points earned through accomplishing goals that are handed down by the team manager. Keep your stats sheet headed in the right direction though, because points can also be deducted for goals not met, resulting in a career showing not even close to something you would see in Coopers Town.

DT Racer review for PlayStation 2. www.ClassicGameRoom.com Classic Game Room reviews DT RACER for PS2 from XS Games and Axis Entertainment released in 2005. There’s many different things that DT can stand for but Quality Controls isn’t one of them. DT Racer suffers from style over substance and has extremely poor driving gameplay mixed with awesome crashes, good music and cool replays (usually full of said crashes). Collect up to 26 cars from non-licensed but still-resembling real life cars like the NSX and Dodge Viper… or whatever they call them in this game. DT Racer gameplay is fast and challenging but cars fail with terrible understeer combined with on-or-off braking and poor visibility. CGR DT Racer video review has gameplay from DT Racer played on PS2 with widescreen visuals and stereophonic sound. The DT Racer cheat code to unlock / buy all of the cars from a new career mode is L1 L2 Triangle R1 R2 start career mode (from main menu). Interesting note, DT Racer works with the EyeToy camera and can take a picture of you and apply it to the game’s driver icon. Good crashes, good tunes, terrible driving controls = DT Racer!

While it never quite achieves Muhammad Ali-like greatness, Knockout Kings 2000 is nonetheless an excellent boxing game for both the enthusiast and the casual gamer. Fifty boxing legends from the past and present are featured in this EA Sports title, along with world-famous arenas and TV-style coverage. In addition to being able to set up your own fights in the standard exhibition mode, you can play out nine of the greatest boxing matches in history in the game’s classic mode. And for those interested in less realism and more pugilism, slugfest mode offers over-the-top, arcade-style boxing.

The real crowd pleaser here is Knockout Kings 2000‘s career mode. Choosing from a wide variety of options, you get to create your own custom boxer, who can fight his way to the top in career mode or participate in exhibition and slugfest matches. Before career fights, customised boxers can be improved by training, or playing various mini-games. (A memory card is required to save custom boxer data.)

What robs Knockout Kings 2000 of the championship belt is its unbalanced 3-D graphics. The boxers look great and move fluidly, but everything else appears flat and unfinished. Thankfully, fast game speed and responsive controls clamp down on the sightseeing, which is one sure-fire way to end up KO’d. –Joe Hon

Consoles now have little shortage of entries in the extreme sports genre, making it all the more surprising that Aggressive Inline feels that bit different from the rest in the field, and also emerges as one of the most pleasant gaming surprises of the year.

The sport at the heart of it is inline skating, which quickly provides an ample excuse for some fast skating and plenty of tricks. Backed by a friendly and genuinely helpful tutorial, the key options are all present and correct–you can play in career mode, have a free skate, take on timed runs and design your own parks too.

These modes are backed by an admittedly limited but nonetheless varied selection of bountiful levels, each of which holds plenty to keep your attention. Furthermore, each delivers a subtlety different challenge and exerts differing demands on the player. That said, there’s still plenty of freedom for you to master the numerous tricks and combos you need to rack up a big score.

Graphically, the game is very strong, and the gameplay is genuinely accessible, offering generous rewards whether you want a quick go or an extended session. Packed with surprises, Aggressive Inline is highly detailed, yet blissfully player-centred. It’s no huge evolution in the genre, yet it’s still a notable step forward and, bottom line, an excellent and highly enjoyable game. Are you watching, Tony Hawk? —Simon Brew

Hell’s Kitchen is a TV phenomenon featuring world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay putting aspiring chefs through rigorous culinary tests. The game recreates the show’s pressure-cooker atmosphere as players complete a series of kitchen and dining room challenges to find out if they have what it takes to be a “Five-Star” chef. Fulfilling an order requires three important phases – preparation, cooking and service, all of which players must master to progress. Prepare ingredients, cook them to the correct quality and get food out of the kitchen on time. Each complete meal is scored by Chef Gordon Ramsay to make the kitchen boot camp experience come alive.

  • Just like the contestants on the TV show, players must master all aspects of cooking: preparation, cooking and service.
  • Chef Ramsay watches your every move and judges you as you progress – yelling, praising or shutting down the kitchen if your skills don’t meet his expectations.
  • As you progress, you’ll gain access to authentic Gordon Ramsay recipes, including many that are exclusive to the videogame.
  • In Career Mode, earn your stars to build your way up from a Single Star restaurant to a prestigious Five Star establishment. Then, continue to advance through seven more restaurant ranks. As your Star Rating advances, the recipes become more intricate.
  • In Arcade Mode, concentrate your efforts solely on food preparation and cooking. The pressure builds as customers become increasingly more demanding.

Over the last 20 years of gaming, we’ve been able to digitally participate in most of the world’s top sporting events but the ever-popular sport of cycling has languished behind. Konami have decided to rectify this with Tour de France for PS2 and Xbox.

Tour de France features the usual arcade, practice and career modes. The real play value lies in the career mode: the aim is to win the Tour De France within five years of your racer’s debut. Once you’ve created a rookie racer, you’re signed up to a team and left to manage your racer over each season. Choose to race in minor road races, train your racer or rest to recuperate those muscles: it all helps to hone your cyclist’s skills for the Tour itself, an A to B racer in which the aim–surprise surprise–is to come first.

Your racer pedals at a steady pace with a constant press on the X button; frantic button-pushing is needed to raise the rider from the seated position for the more intense periods and sprints. Some very clever strategic elements await, the ability to slipstream being a major plus–as you move through the Peloton you’ll need to slipstream to renew energy, making it impossible to succeed merely by the aforementioned frenzied bashing of buttons.

Overall, Tour de France is highly recommended; riders and team names are all correct, and the title seems very polished, but–and this is a big but–there’s a lack of different stages and sadly the actual Tour is only six stages long. However, if you’re a fan of le Tour, then this is certainly a game to try. —Laurent S Hall
